Francoise Gilot: The Pioneer
Time & Location
About the event
2021 marked the 100th year of Françoise Gilot as a painter, printmaker, writer, poet, mother and grandmother.
Almost half a century ago, in 1971, Ferris State University hosted a special exhibition of Francoise Gilot's graphic works.
Following Gilot's generous donation of rare colour proofs to the university for the learning and enjoyment of fine art students, faculty and the viewing public.
The exhibition brought together twenty-nine rare prints from fifteen private Michigan collectors, demonstrating the popularity of her work in the United States.
Ferris State University Fine Art Gallery once again celebrated the remarkable life and career of Françoise Gilot. DKH Gallery and Creative Arts Napier bring this hallmark exhibition to New Zealand on its second leg of a global tour. RSVP for general admission.
E-Book Catalogue available now and gold donation entry. Catalogue and merchandise available now on the exhibition store.
